We are Mila Szott and Moe Karbasion, husband and wife and co-founders of MOLA Remodeling & Design. Our story begins when Moe and I have purchased our first home in October, 2017. While the home was in a move in ready condition, as everybody says when they see the before photos, we on the other hand had a different vision and had a bigger picture for this place in mind. The good thing is that Moe and I share the same vision and passion for design and so with our transformative attitude we knew that we could change the entire interior of the home with no hesitation. Luckily the home already had high vaulted ceilings ( pop corn ceiling could be removed) and relatively open floor plan (after removing non-bearing wall) .... the rest could be changed to our taste, and so we went for a full renovation)))).
The hardest part for most people is to envision the final product, where would you begin and what it would look like when it’s done. We fully soaked into the project, picked out all the materials in one weekend, picked out and ordered all the furniture the next weekend, coordinated with our team of renovators, finalized all the finishings and decor pieces, and in less than a month later we moved into a fully 180 degree remodeled house. And this is where it starts, when neighbors and friends come to visit and say: “You should do this for a living, you are good at it, why won't you do this for others? Can you help me design my house now?”
It sometimes doesn't click at first, because what you have done is not perceived by you the way it’s perceived by others, so you don't fully understand what kind of skills you have and how you can apply them. Renovating and redesigning our home and receiving motivational compliments from friends have inspired us to pursue our career. We realized that we are here to create, share our vision, transform and make a change.
In 2018 I have ventured a staging company Orchid Home Staging LLC, specializing in vacant and occupied home staging where I take part as a creative director. Moe has launched a remodeling company Giant Return Solutions LLC where he takes part as a project manager. Together we have started a joint venture as MOLA Remodeling and Design in 2020 where we bring our vision and combined experience as a team. There is always a trigger that will lead you to where you are meant to be and this was our journey to where we are today. We are driven by creativity and we believe in the importance of self-expression as a way to be a part of this world, so we transform homes and this is where WE belong!
